Hey guys,
I've been searching everywhere but I can't find a solution to my particular problem.
I recently bought an Apple IIc on eBay that came with the actual computer, the monitor, and an external disk drive. I ordered the null modem cables from retrofloppy so that I couls use ADTpro, and everything was working fine in terms of reading disks, writing disks, and the like. Unfortunately, I had set my tablet (with a magnetic keyboard) near the internal disk drive, and had set a few disks on top of the magnetic keyboard of the tablet. I believed that this had wiped a few of my disks, including my ADTpro disk, so I proceeded to attempt to rewrite ADTpro, and lo and behold, the disk drive can't write to the disk, not will it format it. It just keeps on spinning and spinning. I decided that was a good time to take the computer and clean off the drive head (and retr0bright the case, among other things), so I take it apart and clean off the head. No success. I then had the bright idea to switch drives between the internal and external drive casings, because maybe it was the drive itself. I switched them around and no success. I've tried all of my disks, even ones that I tried when I first got the computer and then never touched (and thus were never near any magnets).
I suspect it's something to do with the main board but nothing else seems to be wrong. The ram appears to be fine as the CLSDAPPL-OPNAPPL-CRTL-RST doesn't come back with any errors.
I apologize if the details are a bit spotty, I'm a few days into this problem with no success.
EDIT: I just remembered that right before the problem occured I accidentally plugged in the external drive while the computer was running and one of the drives made some noises and that's when the problem began.
EDIT: It also doesn't work when either drive is plugged in to the back of the computer and I try to boot from there instead of through the internal cable.
