When I got a Mac, I figured that organising my photos would be a nicer experience. But iPhoto is just too damn slow (apart from being a bit confusing, what, when you import my photos they don't go into the 'pictures' folder but into some weird massive 'iphoto library' file? Why?). I've also tried Picasa, which isn't great (seemed better on Windows, weirdly)

Anyway, is the new iPhoto any better? (thinking of getting it since you can buy it individually from the App Store now). Are there any other programs anyone'd recommend? I'm really surprised that, since Apple sell themselves based on their 'lifestyle' and 'fun' sort of programs, iPhoto just seems to sorta suck.

(Extra info: my iPhoto library is 6.5gb, that doesn't seem too unreasonable does it?)
