Issues - Airdrop iOS 11.2.1 with El Captain

So I just spent an hour trying to fix this but it won't work.
I have a macbook pro el captain 10.11.5. Airdrop was working perfectly fine with my iphone 7plus. Just got a new iPhone x with iOS 11.2.1
Couldn't connect iOS 11.2 to El Captain Macbook. Can confirm both iOS 11.2 can connect with other iOS but not el Captain.
Anybody else have issues like this? Need airdrop to work.
