Nice touch in iOS app zoom in

If you're in Safari's tabs page you'll have noticed that you can see your background behind the tabs.
But an extra touch: when you close the app, the background doesn't zoom out with the rest of the app but just fades in from dark.
I hope apple add an API for using the background in third party apps, I think it could be pretty nice.
