Hey! Trying to track down this "Home not loading posts if sort is set to Best" bug. Here are some details as far as I can tell:
- Reddit seemingly changed some things with the Home sort this week
- This change seemingly broke things https://twitter.com/redditstatus/status/1602692140672614401
- They indicated it's fixed, it's clearly not. I reached out to my contact, and they're looking into it
- Apollo's 1.14.16 update did not touch the post feed in any way (it only touched comments narrowly, which is unrelated to the posts feed)
- Looking through logs users have emailed me, it looks like the bug is as simple as Apollo saying (through the API) "can I have posts from Home sorted by best?" and the API saying "Sure, here's your box containing the posts you requested", -opens box- "Okay but there are 0 posts in here"
- It's only happening for some accounts, and like all good bugs, is not happening to any of my accounts which makes reproducing it a joy
So, regarding that last point. Reproducing it to be able to try things further would be very handy here, so if you have an alt account that can reproduce this bug reliably and you don't mind sharing the credentials, please reach out via Settings tab > About > Logs and share those with me. If you don't want to do this, or it seems weird, totally understandable, and it is weird, I'm just having a hell of a time reproducing it in any other way, so I'm trying my best here.
Provided I can massage something with a reproducible issue I'll try to submit a fix ASAP, but if my hypothesis is true that it's simply a Reddit issue, I'll submit a change to default the Home sort to 'Hot' instead of 'Best' and await Reddit's fix on the issue.

If you happen to also have the official app, and tap through your Reddit Recap, does it "release" the home feed as described here? https://www.reddit.com/r/apolloapp/comments/znlzkx/comment/j0ipmmu/
Yes, I commented earlier on that thread and it's the stickied comment.

If you go to old.reddit.com on your iPhone browser, does it also happen there?
