In my opinion, I enjoy the new ranked system. Due in part to it actually being taken as a serious challenge. Gone are the days of headless running, 3rd party cities, and ratting for ranked in the cracks of the apex games.

So when I heard about the news that the devs may change ranked to cater for casuals and solo ques. I felt conflicted, because I already understood the formula of the new ranked system. Teamwork, Composition, and actual forethought when making decisions with your pre-made team. (Or maybe if your lucky good randoms)

Yes, you need a pre made team to climb. Ones that understand the craft of the game, ones that understands each other’s play styles upon choosing, and ones that have good overall game scene. For those that do, will climb higher more often. As for I am Gold 1 half way to plat 4.

I do believe it is unfortunate that casuals don’t have the time to grind ranked because of their real life responsibilities. I understand, I’ve been there. But answer me this question. Is that necessary a bad thing? To have responsibilities? Things that you need to do to in life to keep yourself afloat? Things that are so important that you can’t play on the video game as often as you could’ve before? To a mature adult that’s completely fine. As for me, I am healing from a knee injury, so I have more time to play if I wanted. I play up to at most 4 hours a day.

As for that casuals that have enough time to gain in the game (estimated 2-3 hours) that are lower rank and stuck in there, I am sorry my friends. The new ranked season has shown the reality of your current situation, and it has to give somewhere. Either you to start evaluating your own gameplay, or you stay in the ranked your in based in that. You need skills to climb, you need a team to climb, you need brains to climb.

As for not finding any team mates, part of me finds it hard to Believe since there’s already so many people at the bottom. Maybe I need a different prospective on that issue. Maybe something need to change for the lower rank. Or maybe ranked just isn’t for casuals, pubs are.

As for Solo ques. I’d like to hear why you solo que in the first place, give me your prospective so I may understand better. Currently I can’t give my opinion on them.

The road to the top is harsh. And the higher you go, the smaller the circle will get.

Edit: the new ranked system promotes Survivability too. You need to survive to make those first ring kills really count, you’re not getting to get anywhere at 13th place. That’s the point.
