SBMM still awful in ranked!

I'm 500, .62, 340 damage, gold 2 at the moment and have 2 characters with 1k kills. I'd say my ability ends as soon as I enter Platinum 2 although I blame 50% of that on SBMM.

How is it that I get put into lobbies with predator squads, diamond squads, smurf squads, etc.?

Why is it I'm often the best teammate on my team with THAT stat line? Why don't I wind up with some of these"stud" players for at least half of my games?

Yes, I have my completely terrible streaks but at least I'm useful to some degree (assist, being alive, decoy, revives, respawns).

I see screenshots of my friends games or streams and every time no matter what the placement they have at least one solid teammate.

SBMM is way off, at least for me.
