I saw a lot of discussion about how Crpyto could be an âoff the gridâ type of character. From the pinned comment with all the dev replies I saw that there was arguments about how anti scan characters are poorly designed and that a passive shouldnât counter a kit. I made a drawing to illustrate how they could buff Cryptos tactical. (Iâm sorry if this is stealing somebodyâs idea by the way I didnât go through all the comments)
So basically the drone would create a 10 m radius deadzone that could prevent scans from seeing inside. The scanner can see that thereâs a deadzone (iâd almost say that the scan would function similar to going over terrain in that sense)and knows thereâs probably people inside but canât wall hack. They have no idea if theyâre looting or 3 stack aiming the door. (Also it wouldnât obstruct true line of sight,it just wouldnât outline and highlight them. I couldnât really convey that in my drawing.) It would only work when the drone is out. That makes it part of the tactical and not just a passive, and is in line with the flavor of an âoff the gridâ character. The counter play is to kill the drone. Thatâs in line with the usual Crypto counter play.
Obviously I am not a game designer so there are details I havenât looked at, but I just wanted to toss my idea out here before I went to work.
