Currentky right now, 7 out of the 20 weapons are borderline unusable and at way too high of commonality. In an area of 10 guns, 7 of those will be unusable.
Those 7 guns:
Havoc, Alternator, p2020, RE-45, Mozambique, Prowler, and Scout.
It may not seem like much, only 30%, but those guns make up the vast majority of loot spawns even in high tier areas.
These guns all sport horrible damage to clip size ratio, terrible kick and are overall useless even with attachments.
If you have good armor and a bad gun, you stand a fair chance against someone with a good gun but no armor. And thats not a good thing given how the majority of the guns available are trash. If the good gun guy has even grey armor and a speck of skill you are FUCKED.
If you have a bad gun up until the first ring starts moving and mediocte armor, you are not winning this game plain and simple. You will run up against someone with a better gun and they will steamroll you unless you land every bullet of the clip in those guns (and lets be honest the recoil on them is particularly bad so thats not gonna happen) ESPECIALLY on console.
There should always be loot progression but as it stands the trash weapons make up the overwhelming majority of the loot pool. It makes dropping hot a terrible idea because its a roll of the dice, and youre better off dropping where no one is so you can search the whole area for a decent gun.
Right now, no gun is too strong, but now we need to raise the overall gun quality or gun spawns. The bottom four (Alternator, p2020, re45, and mozam) are seen fucking everywhere and two of those are literally unusable. Practically every single drop your first two guns are a combination of the two.
