“Select all” or “go to” hotkeys

Which hotkeys do you guys generally use? And which one is better I mostly use select all, for example i press f to select all stables to make knights( and ctrl f to cycle between stables). I see pros and videos online of people jumping around to all their military buildings to make units. Is this generally better than selecting all at once.
