Should I update firmware

After reading the problems people have had after updating firmware on there Vyper, I must admit I'm put off doing it on my Vyper, it's got firmware version 2.3.3 works perfectly,and I'm thinking is it a case of if it ain't broke don't fix it ! I've updated printers before without a problem but I'm very wary now. Opinions?
