Meeting with "Management"
Post Body

Meeting with Management last week:

Manager: We wanted to have this meeting so you could share some of your concerns and see if we can improve things for everyone.

Me: My concerns are even though we voiced that staffing wasn't enough on our evening shifts, and that we really need at least one person working a mid-shift, we were ignored.

Direct Supervisor: While we appreciate your concerns, Operations has assured us that staffing is fine. In all honesty, you are paid to take calls and chats, and that is it. If it's slow, we offer to let people go home for the day.

Me: When we have 2 call-ins multiple nights a week (same people mind you) leaving us with 2 instead of 4 heads on the phone after 3PM CST, it is a problem. Furthermore, when you clock out by 3:03, how can you tell us what we are or aren't experiencing?

Fast forward to this week: Tonight yet again I'm dealing with a situation where we have been slammed for the past 3 hours, the other two people who close aren't here, and the 3rd is leaving in a couple hours. While I, "May get paid" to take these calls, I view this as "I get paid to do the work of 1, not 4 people". They refuse to fix the staffing issues. They refuse to do anything about people who don't show up. I have some free time saved that I just think I'm going to use this evening. Maybe 3 hours of nobody working will prove a point when a client complains rather than an employee? I will keep you updated.
