Just spoke with a union rep about a short term gig in live entertainment. After discussing the rates and the nature of the work, I inquired about any lodging or per diem because I'm going to be driving 16 hours one way to "make the magic happen". I straight up told that lodging and per diem were not included and that many people who travel from town often sleep in their cars at the closest rest stop.
Welcome to the exploitation of live events workers! Enjoy your expensive concert tickets, music festivals, sporting events, WWE.
