US here, is 5 days a YEAR for sick time really enough?
Post Body

I am already halfway done with my annual pittance of 40 hours sick time. Once for my kid and once for me. Both legit sick. Now here comes late in the year I will need to choose between possibly being fired (by asking for special considerations, which has happened to me), coming into office sick or asking if they will approve unpaid time off. All bad options.

I am fine with use it or lose it, doctors note after couple days , etc.

This needs to change. Double it at minimum and you might actually fill some of those “job openings” I hear so much about.
