Why employers not respect your time?

I had applied to this job over the holidays after I quit my other job. The interview process went very well, they offered really good benefits and such.
“Work starts at 7” so I show up at 6:50, early’s on time and on times late right? So I showed up a bit early. Nobody else showed up until after 7:30, and I only know that because I left at 7:30. Right as I pull in home, I get a text from the boss saying “we start at 7 around here” no fuckin shit, I was there at 7 lol. I don’t know, did I fuck up?
