So today has been pretty rough. I'm currently on a double shift for a restaurant called Ted's Montana Grill.
We're currently busing our asses far more than we have to. Our dishwashing machine is broken, and we have to run dhit back 2 to 6 times. Our incompetent Kitchen Manager refuses to call corporate or even close down the restaurant for not even an hour. Our General Manager had come in, but he didn't close the place down. Apparently our machine has a contract where another company is supposed to come in and fix the damn thing. It's been more than 5 hours since we had called. But no one showed up. So now, most of our Chefs are in the back cleaning dishes. We're getting hit hard because it's fucking sunday. The servers, including myself, the only SA, Haven had any breaks. Same with the chefs. Our prepper is our "dishwasher". And our Front House Manager is in the kitchen trying to keep up.
It's just. I'm just hating this so much. I'm already trying to find another job. This 4/hr bs tips ain't fucking cutting it.
I already brought up to some of my co-workers about unionizing. I think only 2 are dowm with it.
Can anyone tell me or send me links on how to initiate this for a restaurant?
