My old manager left her position after annual salary planning began but before it concluded. She told me I would get a $20k raise to bring me to within my proper salary band, which I have not been for 2 years. My new manager had a meeting with me today and told me I would get a $10k raise, and also that my previous manager hadn't told her about any salary planning conversations. (For clarity, my new manager was my previous manager's boss; I just report to her now. So they definitely should have been talking about salary planning) I said thank you and that $10k is a lot of money, but it was not in line with my expectations. She told me she'd take it to HR, and she did, and called me back a few hours later telling me my raise is $20k.
Advocate for yourselves, folks!
