Reviewing my former employer on Indeed, how else can I help people avoid the dumpster fire that is NCH software?
Post Body

Look, this place is full of red flags and is a literal sweatshop, I tried to ignore the biggest one, where management talked badly about its employees to me during the interview process. I strongly recommend you don't do what I did.

I am the 6th person to leave the position since 2018, there is a reason this office is at half staff and.

I was in a car accident on my way to work because the VP of North America hates that people besides him can work from home (he really wants you in the office without a mask but also won't shake your hand because of covid. Super cerebral guy). I worked through said accident before my Doctors forced me to go to the ER for concussion/whiplash symptoms a week and a half later. They then told me to take 3 days off from work to try to heal. I worked anyways, split shift days to make sure Management got their hours (even though it's a salaried position, they treat you hourly in an attempt to pay you less; take a sick day in the week but work a long weekend and you're getting paid for 32 hours because you missed a scheduled day, and if you challenge management on this they immediately take it to a legalistic place. make sure you read everything you sign because they will try to raise their voice and strong-arm you into doing what they want. They blame their 'productivity software Flexi, which literally records your whole day with mouse clicks and screenshots and all, whether you're in the office or out) So I still provided them 20 of their required 24 hours during the week while working through a doctor-ordered time off. They let me go because 'my heart wasn't in it'.

I haven't even told you about the sorry state of the office, a major red flag. This place is a literal sweatshop, it got up to 90 degrees in the office before we were allowed to work from home for that day. This happened multiple times, and if you complain they tell you to deal with it, because they are and they aren't bothered by it (because they come in 2 days a week), and don't ask why there's a thermometer in each office. Half the lights don't work so you are sitting at your desk, sweating through your clothes in a half-lit office and not discouraged from talking to anyone. But that office culture is important.

Lastly, if I haven't made this clear yet, management is incompetent and sensitive about it. They will set you up to fail. They will talk bad about you behind your back. They encouraged me to drop out of college for the company. They routinely go on power trips, we were hit by a series of ransomware attacks, and instead of trying to work with the safety measures I put in place I was shouted at because one of the managers was slowed down by the extra steps of whitelisting what she needed to work. I was hired for my SQL and hardware skills, but management forgot and then got red-faced and degrading because I knew little about Linux but when I asked if I should get a basic certification they told me "no, only learn enough for the task". They will make you spend 100 hours on something because they didn't think of your idea that could fix it under 10. OH! and they will have you run personal errands for them, I spent 3 days fixing the owner's home security cameras.

Please do yourself a favor and stay away.
