Post Body

Yesterday was the second time in the past month that our company cancelled OT requirements because we were meeting Gov’t regulations. For background I work in public utilities so we’re constantly in the race against call caps and meeting customer demand against what the state says we need to do. You’d think, “Oh that means they’re figuring things out” right? Wrong.

As a solid chunk of us are “contract to hire”, they instead made a wave of calls an hour after the shift ended and fired a bunch of people. I guess if they aren’t overworking us, they aren’t working us hard enough.

This is all while weekly preaching that people need to take care of their physical and mental health, but not giving people time off because they’re still “in training” (those people have been worked like they’re on the floor for the past month, with training suspended).

Follow me for more tips on how to work for a toxic company.
