Can’t quit. Just get to suffer.
Post Body

I started a new job. Rather than a warm, enticing, professional environment they use threats of economic violence and imprisonment to explain your short comings. They don’t do encouragement well at all. When asked for a copy of all the rules I have to follow they said don’t do anything immoral, illegal, or dangerous. They’re not big on communication, but ask me to communicate as if I understand each instance I should be communicating, not having aforementioned rules to cite. My training was less than spectacular as I wasn’t provided with the training manual that I and my trainer should sign off on. In fact, everything I have asked for has been brushed off, and the whole company seems to be run like a circus train doing backflips while being driven by the monkeys. And then they keep wondering why I don’t know the basics.

Of the couple people I started with they seem to be using me as the punching bag. And as I have been having what amounts to performance issues (I’m on my fourth day out of insufficient training), I have filed for reasonable accommodation for my learning disability, and as I’m expecting that they’re gonna try to fire me, I assume I’ll need to appeal with the union, and file a claim with the EEO and DOL.

But the rub is, it’s a good job (or should be) and I don’t actually hate the work itself. I’m paid absolute shit, but the benefits are pretty good. But I can’t quit. I need the insurance. Because my family needs the insurance.

My rant is this: what the ever loving fuck is wrong with this place and why do we allow the fact that the only way to get medical care is peonage.
