Is it looked down upon to ask for the higher end of pay a job is offering as a recent graduate?
Post Body

I've been out of school for 7 months now, been practicing as a licensed vet tech for 4 months now but before I was licensed I was doing the same things I'm doing now for about a year. The job I'm applying for is an hour away, offering a range of $17-22. I currently live 15 minutes away from my job and make $17/hr. I did calculations and to make working an hour away worth it after gas, I'd need to be making $21 an hour. Anything less than that and it would be akin to me still making $17 an hour.
