So I’m in a position where I need to leave my current job because of the hostile environment, I don’t want to get too into it but for context, my job is a mom a pop business that they treat like a write off, the owner is always on vacation and his narcissist son tends to power trip his authority, I’ve been with the company for 5 years and it can run itself with just the employees, but his addition to the team has truly turned a great team into a low moral low performing team. There’s a lot of favoritism and gossip. I can’t take it anymore, I had a panic attack due to the stress of work and had to be taken to the hospital, it has truly taken its tow on my body, and I want to leave a letter behind stating that I’m leaving due to the hostile environment, but I don’t want to forfeit my unemployment as a result, how do I go about this or what advice would you give me. The unemployment would really help but I do have some raining day funds that would get me by for the next few months.
I do want to mention that I already rented a moving truck and a set date to move out of the country all together but I’m at that 2 week mark and the deadline is closing in.
