Corporate theft is real. I own a small business. Just me. When I order materials on huge projects I'll end up returning an item or two. New in box. All approved by the company I order from. They keep the return and refuse to give the money back. Meanwhile, calling it approved.
This has happened multiple times and you don't really have another option. You have to go to an attorney and pay for that.
I used to make hotel bookings through Expedia/Hotels.com up until very recently. They have taken payment for bookings but they don't actually book with the hotel. They pretend like it's only a prepay then keep your money. You get stuck in the Mumbai customer service loop and they keep lying over and over and over.
Forget about the credit card company helping you out. They lie too. I've been told I'll have cases resolved by a certain date. Nothing happens. Like it never existed.
This is a real thing today. These businesses are so bad at what they do that they literally have to steal from better businesses to stay afloat. It's degraded this far.
Think about how bad that is. A massive corporation needing to steal from a tiny sole proprietor. They need my money to survive. It's fucking crazy.
