I finally did it, wish me luck.
Post Body

I got my bachelor's degree in Horticulture in 2016. In school, I figured that one day food would become so expensive due to climate change, that I would be able to grow in a greenhouse on my lawn at a price competitive with Big Ag.

I went to work at shitty job after shitty job. Yelled at daily, minimum wage, long shifts and no benefits. Food so expensive and pay so low that I couldn't afford fresh veggies every day, I only made about 5 tomatoes an hour at the current rate.

But, I achieved my goal of gaining skills and knowledge to go into business for myself, and that's what I did.

I am the only employee. I grow it, sell it, and own it. I automate everything I can and keep the prices as low as possible. I do 50% off for EBT users at the farmer's markets. I work on my own time my own way. I own the product of my labor and the means to produce it. I teach free gardening classes at the library. I am trying my best to better my community. I am truly, truly hoping it works out long term.

Wish me luck. 🤞
