Does anyone have problems with windows turning on periodic background scanning even though they have a separate security software installed? Periodic scanning gets turned on, I turn it off, but whenever windows has a security intelligence update, periodic scanning comes back on. It seems that on an update, windows takes a long time to recognize I have another antivirus installed as my antivirus doesn’t show in the windows security section on virus and threat prevention. It shows a spinning wheel and takes minutes to finally see I already have an antivirus installed.
I’ve checked and have no other antivirus software installed. I’ve checked for viruses using a full system scan, power eraser, and a hitman pro scan. Nothing.
I’m on windows insider beta channel and this issue has been going on for some time. I know I’ll get flak for this, but my software is Norton 360. This happens on both my computers.
Do folks with BitDefender or Kaspersky have this issue or is it a Norton problem? It doesn’t affect anything, but it is irritating. Thanks
