SRS is somewhat inactive for a subreddit of its size. Only around 10% of its subscribers are active and many of the links are submitted by the same handful of people. This alone is not unusual; the same can be said for many subreddits including SRD, ToR, etc. What distinguishes SRS, though, is that you have a large majority of casual and ostensibly less invested readers subscribed to a very hardline and vitriolic subreddit that demands extremely high investment in their ideas and methods.

So who is this 90% of users and what is the appeal for them? Do they just like to keep tabs on nasty things people say and never set foot in the comments? Don't participate for fear of slipping up and getting banned? Dworkin's many socks? Your guess is as good as mine.
