Okay, I just stumbled across this sub and antinatalism is something I’ve never heard about. I tried to search for answers but couldn’t find the answers I was necessarily looking for. I come to you in good faith because I am genuinely curious!!! Sorry if this kind of post is not allowed.
What is the reasoning for being antinatalist? I read in the FAQ that you have to believe it’s morally wrong, but why? Is it because bringing a child into the world’s current state could be considered cruel? Or is more that humans shouldn’t exist at all (environmental reasons)? Could the same be said for animals? I’m also noticing a lot of post that reference genetic conditions that could also be perceived as cruel to subject someone to.
I’m sure everyone has their own personal reason, but I’m wondering if there are categories I guess?
I’m not here to debate or anything I’m just interested to find out the why behind it.
I regret my entire life and I don't want anyone to suffer as I have suffered.
