Obligatory long time lurker first time poster. I normally silently boycott MLMs and for the most part everything is fine. A cycle studio opened up by my house (a very reputable nationally franchised brand) and offered some free intro classes - I love spin so I figured I would try out free classes and see if I wanted to potentially join with my sister.
After the first class they told us to wait for the standard “join our studio!” Chat so I was shocked when the teacher busted out her Herbalife jacket and mentioned she would be doing consults outside!
I work at the corporate office of a national franchise so I know how to open up a franchise of this nature and what is pretty standard of the what is “allowed” to independent operators by the overhead brand and let me tell you this is not okay and I know our operations department would be FURIOUS if they found out this happened.
I’m really torn about contacting the cycle studios corporate office (I have met people who work there) because I know this women will probably lose her job, on the other hand I know they will probably be audited (corporate quality control) and she will be told anyway. It’s just sad because I would have totally joined if it wasn’t for that.
