Guilt tripped into a cutco "appointment"

Looking for advice! A mom friend gave my number to a young man who recently graduated from the school my husband teaches at. I felt bad saying no due to the personal connections and agreed to listen to his pitch. I felt very guilty-tripped about it but that's kind of past for the course with me (I'm a people pleaser). After mulling it over for the last two days, I sent him this text. He has not responded and the "appointment" is in 2 1/2 hours. Should I follow up again and just be more direct and say something like, "you know what? Please do not come to my house." I don't want to offend or upset this kid, and because of his student/teacher connection with my husband, I'm being extra cautious with my approach. Any advice is appreciated!

I need to remind myself of this more often.

Another mom who I've become friends with because our kids are friends.

No, I texted again and said I wanted to cancel.

At least you got out of it!

Update: this is what I just sent to him. Thanks for the advice from the commenters! I have a very hard time saying no thank you and especially cancelling plans.

He gave it a thumbs up and responded "okay, have a great summer!"

Hi, I haven't heard from you so I wanted to follow up again - I would like to cancel the appointment at 4 pm today. I really don't want to waste your time since I don't plan to purchase. I'm sorry for the late notice and I wish you success in the future.
