Why do online scammers tell you to register to shady websites for free?

Hey guys! This is a bit of niche and kinda NSFW. But basically as the title asks, why do scammers (who pretending to give things like nudes etc.) tell you to register for a shady website for free? Sometimes even tell you to register with a certain age?

Is there a way for these scammers to access your information by doing this? Or is it purely to get some required level of traffic? What’s the mechanics of their scam?

This question was kinda aimed at you cyber-security experts who may deal with these kind of scams. Or even people who have ended up being impacted from doing this.
