Players can have different goals when playing the game.

Generally though, I'd like gauge which is the preferred play style for Anno 1800 players wrt industry and farming.

1. Each island is self sufficient and self producing, thereby sharing its extra output (steelbeams/brass for example) with others?
2. Heavy/polluting industry and/or all industry is concentrated on one island and distributed out?

Also, what do you do with islands which have for example 4 copper and 1 zinc, which throws all production ratios off! Do you distrubute the extra materials to other islands or do you sell them?

The point here I want to make is do you keep an island superbly clean (no vulgarity/no pollution) and place all else elsewhere or do you not care?
