Howdy all. Was recently diagnosed with AS in a fun and exciting way. Im a long haul truck driver and woke up 05/03 without the use of my lower body. Was rushed to the er where they did mri's and found that I had 4 bone spurs were pushing my spinal cord shut. They then rushed my to a different hospital that a neurosurgeon team who did a ten hour operation of removing bone spurs in my spinal cord and decalcifying 5 disc's. I have lost most of the use of my right leg for now, but I am getting better everyday. I was bed bound for a month, but am finally home and recovering. I am still new to this and am hoping to join a community for some mutual support. Have a good one.
