Is it too late to buy single admission tickets at the door for Friday during the afternoon?

I know they will have tickets available for Friday, but I've never been to an convention before and I would like to know when you should line up to grab a day pass (will there even be a lineup?). Should I go early or will there still be passes available during the afternoon when it starts?
