Hello, and Happy New Year! Welcome back to the UK news roundup for our first post of 2018, covering December news and announcements. It's been a quiet December, most companies have been focused on winter sales rather than acquisition announcements, but lets get to it!

Winter 2018 Simulcasts

Anime Limited
- AL released their Sword of the Stranger DVD/BD LE last month by surprise, so a brief mention here. The release includes an artbox and booklet, with several making of extras on the disc itself. Retail price is £24.99.
- Anime Limiteds' Q1 slate has been expanded, and now inlcudes Kinos Journey (2003), Mind Game, Napping Princess. You can check out the full release slate on AUKN.
- Fairy Tail Part 22 is on schedule for 29th Jan 2018.
- The Aldnoah Zero, Blood Blockade Battlefront CE, Expelled From Paradise CE Fullmetal Alchemist Ultimate Edition, HAL LE, and Sword Art Online II Part 4 are now all out of print.
Sony Home Pictures
- Sony Home Picture are expected to take over publication of some Funimation titles in the UK going forward, following their acquisition of the company. The first title to be released is Attack on Titan: Season 2 which is coming as a Standard DVD, Standard Blu-ray and a DVD/BD Limited Edition. The Ltd Ed. comes with a booklet and 60 page art book and is basicaly the same as the NA release. This is a Zavvi exclusive set and is available for preorder for £49.99.
Netflix
- Dragonball Z: Battle of Gods, Dragonball Z: Resurrection F, Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry and Fullmetal Alchemist (2003) are now available to stream.
HIDIVE

Theatrical News
Mary and the Witches Flower will be released in the UK on 18th May 2018.
The Price Charles Cinema in London will be hosting a film season called Studio Ghibli Forever from January until June, including both subbed and dubbed screenings of many classic Ghibli films.
The Glasgow Film Theatre is screening Lu Over the Wall on January 27th at 11:30.
The Edinburgh Filmhouse will be hosting a screening of Satoshi Kons' film Paprika on February 23rd at 23:15.
This years Japan Foundation Touring Film Programme takes place 2nd February to 28th March 2018 in the following cities: Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Chester, Colchester, Derby, Dundee, Edinburgh, Exeter, Inverness, Kendal, Leicester, Lewes, London, Manchester, Nottingham, Sheffield, Stirling. This year Sword of the Stranger is the featured anime film, alongide a lineup of live-action films. Check out the website to find out what your local venue is and what films it will be screening.
