What show actually did "get good" at a certain point?

We often see people ask at what point a show (for example Gintama) "gets good", which often is regarded as a silly question since most shows already are good from the start.
But what shows did start off mediocre or bad only to get good much later in the genre. It can be a show that starts at a 4/10 and becomes a 7 at one point, or a show that starts off at 7/10 and becomes a 9 at some point.
So, what shows actually did only get good after a certain point?
