If you are planning to watch the show, know that there are Many Spoilers in this review, if you are okay with that please feel free to read at your own discretion

This is my first time writing out my review on an anime, so sorry if it is not very well written ahead of time. I see a lot of people get inspired to write reviews on shows they liked, shows that are popular, and shows that they think they have a different view toward.Well that is not my reason...

This Review is for the Shittiest show i have seen to date.

Since i have never seen it mentioned, and when i searched it there were no post talking about it, i thought it would be a good idea to share the experience with those of you who love to see terrible anime.

I will be reviewing 3 parts, Story, Characters, and Animation. I will say here though that the voice-acting was alright, and that i am not a very good judge for sound. I will also do my best to bold out a tl;dr.

Story:

The plot of this show is ridiculous. It takes place in a Sci-Fi setting, where there are two species, Humans and Gorans(from now on i am just going to call them aliens), which are basically humans with horns on their heads and usually have weird skin colors. In this basketball is a big deal, and they broadcast all news involving it over the screens in New York, which is where the MC first appears. Basically the plot is about a team of all humans trying to get into the Intergalactic basketball league to prove that humans are not inferior to the Aliens.

It definitely felt like it was trying to emulate racism throughout the show, with the Aliens looking down on the Humans, though the humans believed it as well, that they could not compete alongside the Aliens, who were much stranger than the average human. The story also had some unneeded sidetracks and flash backs that never affected the overall plot, but i won't go into detail on that for those who still want to see it for how laughably bad this show is.

One last thing i will throw in this section is that the team is recruited from all over the world, and just to make it cheesier, a majority of them were recruited from weird ass places, one guy was a police officer, another was a sumo wrestler, and one guy is just obsessed with his purple car, which matches his hair.

I Give the story a 4/10, it was overly predictable, and just bad to top it off.

Characters:

The MC is named Hideyoshi, literally the only name he ever gives, though his two friends call him boss. He starts out as a street orphan who hustles people out of money by beating them in 3 on 3 basketball games. He is constantly arrogant and never stops talking. He is only like 13 when the anime starts, and ends up at about 15 later on, so you can see that why he acts that way to a degree. One important thing you should know is that he can dunk, though he is short, and when i say he can dunk you should know i mean from the 3-point line. From the 3-point line...though he did jump off a guys back, if that makes it more believable? Wait believable, they are playing against aliens. Never mind, lets carry on.

He gets recruited by the coach(she is actually pretty insignificant, though it seems like she would be a big deal), and a young girl with pink hair named Cha-che, who it later reveals is the Team owners granddaughter, and she wants to join the team as well.So if one kid wasn't enough, it turns out she can hit long range shots like they're her pillow. Everyone else on the team is an adult..nope actually there is one more kid but he looks like an adult. I couldn't find a good picture of him but that is okay because he is a bench player so he only comes in when it is convenient to the plot. Fun fact about Cha-che is that at one point a guy calls her Cha-che-chan and it sounds really fucking silly. Almost a toungue twister but not quite.

There is also DT, aka Dream Time, He always has a swim cap on his head, and is essential to the team. He is basically the only point guard they have who can actually work well with teammates, he is also the mental support as well as the tactician. He may as well be the coach, but they thought that it would be more interesting to have a female coach with later plot convenience. DT is first shown getting picked at by crows in the dessert and then leaves fish and an octopus for the woman who saved him when he leaves. Later on it shows someone he knew when he was younger, though it builds up the backsttory on that person it gets dropped off completely. The characters name is Lazuli, and she is obviously female, though the show acts as if you can't tell and reveals it later on, along side some other silly reveals that only matter in that episode.

Before i forget, this is a picture of Gyuma, the best basketball player in the Inter-galactic league. He usually is seen wearing a cowboy hat and sunglasses. He must be good since he is the only yellow alien it ever shows right?

The characters are probably a 4/10 as well. They were mostly just there outside of the MC and everything revolved around him. They were built up and not expanded on and nothing really happened with most of them.

Animation:

Ah this shit, what can i even say. This show was made in 2005, and the second season in 2007. To make this quick it looks much older. The quality of this show is really bad. Not only did it seem low budget from the way the players moved in game, which was quite horrendous, but they actually repeated whole scenes.

First off, the in-game animation, they made use of slow-motion and even still-frames, and the art quality seemed to drop during scenes that showed more than a few players at once. I found this video here, which cracked me up. It actually shows off this horrible animation in an AMV. At 1:35 in the video it shows a scene of him driving that perfectly shows off the decrease in quality that i mentioned.

The second thing i mentioned was repeated scenes. It was bad enough that they were reusing highlights throughout the show, which i noticed and thought "meh, i can deal with it". What pushed it over was when in one game the opponents were shown in a timeout, and the coach gave them a speech to his players "we are proud Goran" and then it did the effect where the screen splits to show all the players reactions and then shows them all pumped up. That was a decent scene, though really cheesy. Then they re-showed it...what the actual fuck, was all i could think. I think they learned their lesson after that one instance because nothing that bad appeared again, but the fact it even happened once was enough to make me cringe. I am not sure if this should really fall on animation, but it most definitely was a result of the budget i am sure.

I would give the animation a 3/10, if it weren't for me being able to imagine worse i would give this animation a 1 just to put it down but being fair it wasn't all bad.

Overall Scoring: 4/10

Honestly, if it wasn't for me being a fan of basketball, i would have dropped this off in the trash where it belongs from episode 1.

So, have any of you had the pleasure of seeing this atrocity, what were your opinions on the show, and do any of you guys out there that like to watch terrible shit feel interested now?
