First off, forgive my ignorance. I've been watching anime since the pandemic but I don't know a ton about how the renewal process works.
When it's a TV show here in US, if it's popular, it's essentially guaranteed to get another season, or even multiple seasons. What's the reason that this doesn't always happen with anime? Is it because it may only be popular in the west?
Low key just finished So I'm A Spider, So What? and I'm sad there isn't more even though it aired over 2 years ago and it sounds like there will never be more based on my cursory googling 😠it may not be the most popular but it's a good ride, meanwhile there are animes of much worse quality that get additional seasons
