So I have been watching anime for several years and most things in this community can be optimized and information easily obtained. Take for instance the various listing websites, seasonal charts, recommendations faqs and threads, and what not that make orginizing watch history, finding new series, and keeping up to date with new releases easy to manage.
The only thing left that I can not pin down is anime film releases. More specifically BD releases as Theatrical runs seem to always be short and on weekdays a couple towns over in my area which makes them hard to catch. Theatrical releases usually catch me by surprise due to the very limited discussion of them as well, but watching out on the theatres site for upcoming films in general makes it easy to see what will be playong near me.
Blu Ray releases are much harder to track as it seems every site that sells them doesn't bother to organize anime films and series separately, and even if they do they will not seperate anime films from live action films making them very difficult to find through multiple screens. So far my best luck is to watch the amazon pages similar items list for preorder films and hope something new is on the list.
Anime listing sites only tell you the films original theatrical release date in Japan so that is not a viable option either. The reddit threads are usually also for theatrical release dates and not BD or streaming dates.
Do any if you guus have some tips and tricks on managing anime film releases and when they are available to watch outside of Japan? If it helps I live in the US.
