Can I be a layout artist if I’m a bad painter?

I am bad at painting and colour and anything to do with it. However, I’ve done Sakuga-style animation which has necessitated that I draw layouts in five point perspective, or block out the layout in 3D (with basic cube models) and animated the camera, playing about with focal length and zoom a lot for composition/framing purposes. I’m a recent graduate and most of my portfolio is in animation, so I don’t have a whole lot of portfolio material as is.
