Did Mike Trout not play yesterday because it snowed in northern Arizona? An Analysis.

Post Body

Mike Trout did not play in yesterday's Spring Training game. It also snowed on the Mogollon Rim, a mere two hours north of Tempe. Are these things related?

Evidence: Mike Trout's love of weather is well-known. He's called into the Weather Channel before. He got some kind of weather/radar related stuff on his custom cleats a few years ago, according to an article that I can't find anymore. But the strongest evidence, in my opinion, is that he's done it before. (I also totally saw that truck in Flagstaff on Friday.) Furthermore, unless they said something on the radio (or I just missed it), they haven't said anything to the contrary on the broadcast after two at-bats.

Counter-evidence: No supporting social media posts. The organization paying him $35.45M this year alone to play baseball may have argued against his driving in snowy, dangerous conditions in pursuit of his hobby coughMadisonBumgarnerdirtbikecrashcough. I also didn't see if that truck had CA plates, and it was like 10:30AM, and he did play on Friday, so it probably wasn't him I saw. And he didn't technically miss a game last time; apparently it was after practice. Finally, they haven't said that he did on the broadcast, unless, again, it was on the radio, or I just missed it.

Conclusion: Did Mike Trout miss Saturday's game to check out a snowstorm?

Probably not. But maybe.
