Francisco Rodriguez, aka "K-Rod", is not anywhere near being elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame, according to voting trackers. This is pretty disappointing - especially if he ends up falling off the ballot - because he deserves it. He has the highest save total of anyone not already in the Hall of Fame, and was a pivotal part of the Angels' 2000s postseason success, along with Vladimir Guerrero, the only player currently in the Hall of Fame registered as an Angel. In fact, I'd say from that 2002 World Series championship team, he's the ONLY one who deserves to be in the Hall (for pete's sake, he struck out Barry Bonds in Game 6 - AS A ROOKIE). Of course, I do have to address the elephant in the room: his domestic abuse allegations and confrontational attitude in the club house have made him kind of a pariah in baseball. Normally I'd be all in on excluding someone for that reason, but then again, Andruw Jones is trending towards election in the next few years, so really, what are the standards.
Any thoughts?
