Basically what the title says. I'm trying to make an application that toggles data, 2g/3g, wifi, etc based on screen on/off or if the phone is locked.
However, I'm finding that using telephony has been blocked in gingerbread and APN changing has been blocked in ICS. These are the only options I am finding, but somehow applications on the market are still achieving this. (Extended Controls for example)
Does anyone know another way that this is possible, or at least another approach I could investigate further and maybe make work?
Thanks for your help in advance!
(Also, if root MUST be requested I suppose it's better than nothing, but I'd prefer to make this application not require root, like Extended Controls.)
