Any suggestions to add to my (small but growing) Roman library?
Post Body

Just finished Pax, and it was great! Already have Mary Beardā€™s new book pre ordered (canā€™t wait). Looking for any other suggestions. My main interests are mid-late republic and early empire but Iā€™m open to anything!

I have been collecting Roman coinage for a decade but only in the past few years have started to delve into the people behind those coins!

Cassius Dio is a good choice itā€™s a heavy read though. If youā€™re interested in poetic works I recommend the Aeneid and Metamorphoses. If you like the politics of the republic read Ciceroā€™s ā€œthe Republicā€ and his ā€œPhilippicsā€.
