Hello all,
I'm writing a script for a film set in ancient Greece. There is a scene in which two characters speak Persian. This may be a fool question, but is it possible to speak ancient Persian? Chatgpt was helpful enough with a translation and pronunciation, but I'd at least like to have another source!
Thanks!
I wouldn't trust ChatGPT as a source for Old Persian. Not just because it's unreliable for history at the best of times but because there's not enough training data available in Old Persian to be effective in the first place.
I recommend looking at UT Austin's Old Iranian languages resources

And Skjaervo's Old Persian Primer
