Working on an idea for an analog horror using several real events for inspiration and connecting them. IRL, these events are coincidental that they occurred in a short time frame but I plan to unite them together.
I want to tread carefully as far as keeping the lore and story believable but respectful of those who are affected by the actual events. It involves the loss of life of submarine crewman so I've thought of changing the names of the vessels involved while keeping many of the other details very similar (such as nationality, date of loss, etc) in order to keep the content fictional and respectful of the real life counterparts
Any thoughts on how to handle this?? I can provide more detail if it helps, but I'm trying to be intentionally vague
