(I'm reposting this as I rushed last time and wasn't impressed so mods please let this through.)
Happy holidays! 'Tis the season, boys and girls, when we must turn to those less fortunate than ourselves! When we are asked to reach out and give charity to those unblanketed souls requiring seasonal love. Times are tough and I'm sure that many of us would like to pick up some cheap analog swag this year. So I'm asking to use this time for us to acknowledge all of the film cameras that don't get the attention they deserve. That otherwise would've spent this Noel-time sipping soup between a guy who was in three wars with only one arm and one of those guys with all the plastic bags who smells of poo.
My girlfriend wants to buy me a film camera this Christmas so I can take pictures of her while she drinks wine and makes me react to tik-toks but we don't have a lot of money! So I want to call for all you clever elves to tell me your favourite low price performers. Your underrated beasts of sharpness! Image quality is on my list to Santa this year and although we love old finds here, the XA2 and MJU are last years toys so lets go for something more interesting!
So put down your Leicas! Your Summicrons! Your Contax T3's! And tell me what inexpensive camera you use or have used that 'really goes'. Extra presents for boys and girls who put compacts on Father Christmas list this year as I like to capture the joy incognito (to tell who's being naughty and nice).
TLDR; A Roundup of all the best sub $120 dollar/£100 film cameras in 2020 for Christmas!
P.S. I am aware I can put a decent lens on an SLR. But which of both?
