I’m a RBK. After lifting weights at the gym, headed to the pool/hot tub area (local YMCA). As is my routine, I move a deck chair halfway between the pool & hottub, take my leg off, scoot to the pool, then scoot to the hottub when ready. The pool is the 6 ft “deepend.” There was a middle aged man swimming, I’m guessing he had Downs Syndrome. He started directing me to the shallow end, saying, “too deep sir!!” and was getting out of the water to alert the life guard. I assured him that I could swim, despite my amputation. He offered to stay nearby in case I needed help. Anyway, a lengthy story about the good in humanity: this man was looking out for me and ready to get help if I needed it!! (I didn’t.)
