Am I wrong for wanting to solve a lifelong question
Post Body

I, 18M, grew up my entire life thus far without a father, however my mother did introduce to me someone she thought could be him but since then she has gone on a 180 and is unsure now, he has communicated to me here and there since we met, but I don't respond since I don't know what to say, but my mother has told me not to talk to him since he may not even be the father.

I am so confused with all of this and I have considered solving it once and for all with some sort of DNA testing, but I don't know if there's any sort of test that I can do without having to get him to do the test as well, I don't really wanna talk to him until I've been assured, but I also don't wanna cut him off just in case he is, since I have so many question for the person who is my father .

My mother doesn't really want me doing these sort of things as far as I can tell even though I haven't explicitly told her I consider DNA testing, but I can't exactly be at peace until I get some kind of result, so would I be wrong for wanting to do this?
