Am I wrong for not wanting to help my grandparents?
Post Body

I do stay with them and I pay rent and help them when I can, but they always ask me to help them with something before I’m about to go to bed on a day when I have to go in to work for the night.

I do feel bad for them but in all honesty they’re playing a part in me being burned out by trying to take advantage of my being there, saying the exact same thing verbatim within the same day usually. I mean I know they can’t keep up with what they’re doing but when they’re talking about selling the house and getting a camper to roam the country, leaving me essentially homeless, I can’t help but feel a little resentful.

Besides that, a lot of the stuff I do help them out with just doesn’t get recognized or gets redone. If they aren’t going to appreciate my efforts and time trying to bond with them, or respect my work life, then idk.

Outside of that, work is a bit short staffed, and they have me working graveyard as well, but I’m only gonna get one day off this week, and next week I won’t even have an off day.

I mean they talk crap about my brother trying to lead his own life calling him selfish for not spending all his time helping them, even though he will help them on occasion. I even try to compromise with them on some things but they want it their way only. Essentially I’ll always be in the way to them, and they’ll always say it to me.
