Do you get more than one of the same amiibo? Why or why not?

I’ve been collecting amiibo for a few years now. Have well over 100. Recently, I’ve begun getting two of the same one. One to use in games, the other to keep in the box for display. I own two Sephiroth, Pyra/Myrtha, Female Corrin, Byleth, and Mii Swordfighter (got one off eBay, then all three together). I’ve contemplated stopping this habit because it feels like a waste of money, but it’s on my mind, whether or not I should get two of the new Splatoon amiibo; to use in game and the other for display.

Does anyone else do this? It definitely feels counterintuitive to have two of the same item when I can just have one, use it, then have it on display. The issue isn’t whether I can afford it, it’s whether I should.

Adulting with money is hard.
